For over 20 years, Valérie Aboulker has been working as a painter, drawing inspiration from her travels. His method is to keep travel journals and collect all kinds of elements that he later develops in his paintings, in his studio in Paris.
Participated in the Clermont-Ferrand travel book festival in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and with travel books at the South festival in Carcassonne in 2016 and 2017. Also:
- In 2017: Vent Debout, Blu en Lure, Weekend carnets de voyage in Beaurepaire.
- In 2019 booklets at the festival in Lourmarin and Brest.
- At the end of the year, at the Natural History Museum in Toulouse and at the Bordeaux market in Dover.
- In Italy, he participated in the Matite festival in Viaggio in 2015, 2016, 2017, and in the Cuneo festival in 2015.
- Participated in the Diario in Viaggi festival in Ferrara in 2017 and had an exhibition at the gallery in 2018 in Turin.
- In 2020 he did an artistic residency in Bali.
- In June 2021, he held an exhibition at the Médiathèque de Cergy-Pontoise on the Amazon, showing the paintings and travel books
he made during his trip to the Huni-Kuin people in Brazil. In August 2021, he participated in a collective exhibition in Lourmarin, about Portugal.
- In December 2021 exhibition in Paris.
- In 2022 he writes a book with the African-American writer Catherine Mac Kinley, in the USA, for Bloomsbury editions.

He also had painting exhibitions in galleries and in his studio in Paris.
